Afterschool - School Age
The New School of Berkeley’s School Age Afterschool Program serves children in TK through 3rd grade, providing a warm, engaging space to unwind, connect, and play after the school day ends. Rooted in the same values that guide our early childhood program, our afterschool care emphasizes play, creativity, independence, and community.

Daily Afterschool Experience
Afternoons at New School are designed to feel relaxed and supportive. Children have opportunities for outdoor play, creative projects, imaginative games, and collaborative activities. Educators offer structure when needed while allowing children the freedom to choose how they spend their time, supporting both social connection and self-directed play.
A Community-Oriented Program
Our afterschool program is more than supervision at the end of the day. It is a continuation of our commitment to respectful relationships, inclusion, and joyful learning. Children build friendships across ages, practice collaboration and problem-solving, and experience a sense of belonging within a caring community.
